Pricing Transparency
Fairfax Power Washing offers 100% FREE estimates. No strings attached, hidden fees or “bait and switch” tactics.
- In-person estimates: A technician will come to your property at convenient for you time. You will discuss your project and he will take measurements. Then we will send you an official proposal. No hidden fees and taxes.
- Online and over the phone estimates: These proposals are based on the information you’ve supplied. We try to take measurements through Google Maps when possible. Adjustments to the quote may be necessary should there be discrepancies in the quantity or severity of expected work. You can count on our transparency – we will communicate any changes for your approval prior to commencing work.
Prices include planning, equipment and material acquisition, basic labor, area protection, setup and cleanup, cost of related materials and supplies including basic solutions, tool and machine consumables and disposable materials unless otherwise noted.
Preparations for Your Appointment
- Please remove all furniture, portable plants and other items from the areas to be treated prior to our arrival. Otherwise $125/hour moving fee is applied for this service. We may leave heavy furniture in place and work around on case by case basis. Notify us in advance if you need assistance so additional time can be allocated to your appointment.
- Access to your water supply is necessary to commence work. The water consumption is minimal and would not noticeably affect your water bill.
- Please properly close all windows and doors to prevent water damage to your property. Place a towel on the floor inside to catch drips if you have leaky windows or doors . Fairfax Power Washing is not liable for water intrusion due to not properly closed or leaky windows, doors, or any other leaks.
- Our technicians take all precautions to protect your external electrical components during work. Fairfax Power Washing is not responsible for damage to external electrical components which are not water-tight and cannot withstand outdoor conditions such as rain.
- Please remove all pets from the work areas prior to our arrival. Make sure our technicians can safely access and work at your property.
Cancellation, Rescheduling and Cancellation Fee
We don’t do business by charging fees and hate to have to apply them. Please give an adequate notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment and be prepared for your appointment. We hope you understand the unpleasant situation that we would be in if you cancel your appointment without giving us enough time to fill in your spot. This may result in entire day without work depending on the size of your project. Not being prepared for your appointment may affect the next appointments. You wouldn’t be happy to be that person with late or no show technician. Especially if you took time off for your appointment. If we cannot complete your service in the allocated time, we may need to cancel your appointment so we can honor the next one.
To continue to be able to offer affordable prices and to be respectful to everyone’s time, a cancellation fee in the amount of 50% of the proposed cost for your service is applied in the following circumstances:
- You cancel or reschedule your appointment without giving a minimum of 24 hours notice;
- The scope of work is different than the information you supplied and cannot be completed in the allocated time;
- You are not properly prepared prior to our arrival making it impossible to complete work in the originally allocated time.
Not properly prepared means:
- You didn’t remove the furniture and other obstructions from the work area prior to our arrival;
- You have not given us an adequate notice that you would need moving services;
- We are not able to contact you when we arrive to enter the property and commence work;
- You didn’t close the windows and you are not present to resolve the situation;
- You didn’t secure your pets away from the work area or we cannot safely access your property.
Even in these cases we still try to do everything possible to waive the cancellation fee:
- Cancellation fee is waived if we are able to fill in your spot;
- Your appointment is not going to be canceled if there is a spare time between appointments or you are the last one.
Payment Due Date and Credit Card Fees
- Payment is due the day of your appointment after completion of the service unless agreed differently per contract;
- We charge 3.5% fee for credit card payments which goes to the processing server.
Safety Precautions
We know what we do and we know how to do it professionally. Our technicians will provide you with highest quality results without damaging your beautiful landscape. We utilize commercial grade equipment and biodegradable solutions. Your family, pets, landscape and your property are always safe with us. Pets and people should remain indoor or away from the treated areas during the appointment. While safe, the cleaning solutions may discolor clothing and shoes or get in your eyes.
Rust, Oil, Clay, Paint/Stain and Routine Cleaning Limitation
Routine cleaning targets organic growth and removes dirt, grime, mold, moss and algae. Routine cleaning would not remove rust, oil, clay, paint or stain. We offer these specialty services for an additional cost per request.
Deep Cleaning vs Routine Cleaning Limitation
Routine cleaning cost includes one routine cleaning treatment. If you haven’t cleaned your property in a long time, it may require more than one treatment to remove all contaminants. Inform us that you need deep cleaning to receive a realistic quote for a deep cleaning service.
Oxidation and Routine Cleaning Limitation
Simply said, oxidation is the deterioration of the coating (paint, stain, seal) of exterior surfaces such us siding, driveway, wood deck, pool deck, etc. due to various weather conditions and organic contaminants. Oxidation causes two issues. Structural issue – once the coating has deteriorated the weather conditions and organic contaminants will start destroying the surface below. Cosmetic issue – oxidation causes uneven discoloration because sun rays burn and mold, moss and algae destroy the coating unevenly.
Fairfax Power Washing is not responsible for unsatisfactory cosmetic results due to oxidation. Oxidation may become more visible after cleaning the black and green discoloration from the dirt and organic contaminants. This may appear as lighter coating in some areas, and darker in others, or no coating at all in the areas where the oxidation has already reached the surface below.
Routine cleaning removes dirt, grime, mold, moss and algae. It will protect your property from oxidation and save you thousands on costly repairs and replacements in the long run. Routine cleaning will not remove existing oxidation. We offer this specialty service for an additional cost per request. We also offer staining, painting and sealing services for an additional cost.
Basic Wood Cleaning vs Full Wood Cleaning and Stain/Paint/Seal Preparation
Basic wood cleaning removes surface dirt, grime and organic contaminants. Cleaning solution cannot soak long into the wood to avoid damage. Basic cleaning does not remove embedded contaminants and discoloration.
Full wood cleaning is a completely different two step process which utilizes very different cleaning solutions. Full wood cleaning is for you if you need to:
- Completely rejuvenate the wood and remove embedded contaminants;
- Prepare the surface for staining, painting or sealing;
- Remove old stain, paint or seal.
Please note that full wood cleaning cost includes the removal of 2 coats of stain/paint/seal. If you have applied multiple coats on top of each over the years, one treatment may not be sufficient to remove all of the coats. Additional charges apply for multiple treatments and/or sanding if you request to have all coatings removed to bare wood.
Staining, Painting and Sealing
Staining, painting and sealing services include two coats of the chosen coating. Provided cost is for labor only unless otherwise noted. Coating material pricing varies based on the choice of brand and type. The cost does not include sanding/resurfacing, repairs and other specialty services.
Unpaid Invoices
Unpaid invoices and cancellation fees go to collection or small claims court. We do everything possible to accommodate you, and may offer payment plan under specific circumstances before taking any action. Interest may apply.
Agreement to Terms
By accepting all or part of our proposal you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these terms and conditions.
Governing Law
These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, without giving effect to any principles of conflicts of law.
